SO HOW DOES IT WORK?
When you enrol and become a MEDtag member, you get a unique 8 digit PIN number that is then linked to all YOUR personal, medical and insurance information, which is kept in one central database, accessible by medical personnel and the like, in the case of an emergency - any emergency.
As a member, all your personal particulars are stored on a secure web site. The information that will be available to view by authorized personal will be:
- Your name and contact details
- 2 Emergency contact persons
- Vehicle details (Reg, Colour, Make etc)
- Vehicle insurance details
- Medical Aid information
- Medical conditions (past injuries, allergies etc)
- Life Policy information
- Family details (spouse and kids)
- Special instructions
 Once you have joined you will be given the option to who you would like to give viewing rights too. For example, if your car was stolen and the police came across your vehicle and saw a MEDtag sticker on your vehicle but you had not given them the right to view your profile, the officer would not be able to view your personal information, however if you had given emergency services permission they would be able to access your information.
There are five mediums of identifying or obtaining medical aid and insurance information for a person through the MEDtag program:
